I used the branded SC version of this toothbrush which made sonic brushes popular and a major competitor with OB rotating round heads. very similar to the Sonic version but at a cheaper price. I started using electric toothbrushes because my dentist felt that I was brushing my teeth too hard and electric toothbrushes would help me make a lifestyle change. I have been using an electric toothbrush for many years and it has not affected my gums in any way. I think the electric toothbrush motivates you to brush more often and makes the process more enjoyable. Of the two types, I prefer the rotating head to this type - it just cleans my molars better. With this type of brushing, I have to consider where I brush more or I still feel plaque on my molars. The rotating OB brush is just more efficient, although I don't have to think about it. It also includes a 2 minute timer so you know you've been brushing for the recommended time. It's a nice feature, but I don't think you can change this timer, so you'll either have to start over or finish with a manual cleanup if it's not long enough. I feel like I don't need all 2 minutes so the extra time is just focused on my molars so it's not a problem for me. But that requires some sort of battery charge, so it also requires an available outlet. For everyday use, I personally wouldn't prefer the USB version offered by this model to the Q-Type wireless charging offered by the brand. It is MUCH more convenient to just place the brush on the charger. However, I see that for some with USB ports, this type might be more convenient. I think this product shines with its portability. I didn't travel as much as usual last year, but I never take my electric brushes with me for heavy trips. Mainly because I feel like I need a charger and my charger takes up little space for my signature brush. This brush seems perfect for the traveller. I think USB charging is the best travel option and the case is well made. I like that the pack also has dedicated slots for individual baits.
