Review on πŸ”Œ HUANYANG Variable Frequency Controller Converter: Optimize Your Power Supply by Michael Gutierrez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great once set up properly.

I bought this VFD to connect my Bridgeport factory to my house's single phase 220V power line. Overall the unit works as it should. It's like turning your 3-phase AC motor into a DC motor, with all the variability and control but with no loss of torque. I was able to keep the start and stop time at five seconds to hopefully reduce some wear and tear on the machine. Basically it gives a nice smooth start and stop instead of a quick hard bump. It has settings and options for just about everything you can think of, and some things you don't even know what they're for. This is perhaps my only complaint. It comes with a large manual that lists all the options but doesn't fully explain everything. It would be nice if they included a quick setup guide along with full detailed instructions. Still, I'm happy with the unit and will probably buy a second one for my vertical bandsaw rebuild and a third for my lathe.

Pros
  • The GT series uses DSP vector control to allow the motor to achieve high torque at LOW RPM. Numerous digital and analog control terminals for universal control, optional MODBUS (RS485) extension, diverse parameterization. Works well with Mach 3 controller
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
