Review on Teraflex 1952600 Control Arm by Kofi Wills

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Replacing takes some work but well worth it

I have been running a Teraflex 4 wheel short telescopic boom lift for about 6 years and the bushings were completely worn out. There was a lot of goo in Johnny's joints; The frame size bushings weren't too bad, but also needed replacing. Not my suspension drives tight and quiet. Installing these things isn't too bad, and Teraflex has a video on their website about rebuilding Johnny connections. Make sure you use plenty of lubricant when reassembling and make sure the snap rings are fully seated. I used a swing press (you can borrow one for free at any hardware store) and it makes the job a lot easier. For old frame sized bushings I would recommend pushing the metal cylinder out with a ball joint press, then using the press to remove the rubber piece and then using a pneumatic hammer to pry the metal bushing out. After that, use the press to drive in a new one. You'll need to push the metal liner down a bit with a pneumatic hammer to make it slide out.

Pros
  • Lubricant not included
Cons
  • Disappears
