Came in first, set up, seems to be working fine. It didn't even take a week for everything to go wrong. Both wired and wireless connections kept dropping. When I tried to log into the router, it logged out in less than a minute, requiring me to log in again. After a while it just shows me a screen saying it's a mini server and asking me to download the firmware. To make sure it wasn't a problem for me, I plugged my old TEW-672GR back in and everything worked again with no issues. RMA. Sent (at my expense) and they sent me a new block. Installed and started, but for some reason the wireless connection wasn't working - it was on and visible, but people couldn't connect. So I reinstalled everything and started the setup. This time 2 gigabytes worked, but 5 gigabytes kept falling, and soon after that the whole system broke - even wirelessly. After doing a little research and trying not to panic thinking I had another faulty device, I found that a lot of people were having trouble with 5Gbps wireless, so I disabled it. Has been working for over a week now with no problems. So at this point there seems to be an issue with the 5 gigabit wifi connection, which sucks because that was one of the main reasons I got this. When I get "bold" I'll turn the 5GB back on and see what happens and update it at that point. It should be noted that I updated the firmware, but now I'm wondering if this was correct - because I noticed that it says "V 1.1RB" on the side of the box and on the device itself, but the only information I can find on the TRENDet website is about "Version v1.0R" - there is nothing at all for the version I have. Perhaps someone can shed some light on the version and whether it was even compatible with the only firmware listed on TRENDet site (TEW-818DRUv1_(FW1.0.14.0).zip) which appears to be for V1.0REDIT : Update 4/13/2017 - In the absence of any further response from TRENDnet on "Version v1.0R" and my version "1.1RB" I can only assume that this was a later model , which was never released and is therefore not supported by the Firmware Update. Somehow that's the one that was sent to me and as long as I don't turn off the 5Gbps WiFi there's no problem.
