This shell works reasonably well. Although I didn't start out with severe calluses on my feet, I definitely saw results. The product comes in a rectangular box with instructions (small print) printed on the back. The instructions read a little shakily and refer to what you should have done in the previous steps, so read everything before you begin. There is foil packaging in the box. I felt I had to be careful when cutting to not pierce the real booties on the inside. Once the foil is opened, the booties themselves are sealed at the "ankle" and must be cut open before you can put them on your feet. The booties themselves are a decent size and contain plenty of exfoliating liquid. I usually wear a size 8 and they had plenty of room. I believe any woman under the age of 11 or 12 will be happy with them. The product is lightly perfumed and has a general chemical odor. It was simple and not offensive. There is tape included to secure the booties around the ankle but it didn't tear properly and all I got were pulp/paper pieces with no glue. I had already put on booties on my feet so I had to ask my husband to bring duct tape from another room. (I therefore recommend having a roll on hand before starting. It is recommended not to walk around in the booties.) I soaked my feet beforehand and left the booties on for about an hour and a half. As a precaution, I put on large socks on my feet, although I can do without them. The instructions recommend soaking the feet during the molting process. So when I showered, I just shut the drain and let the water flow. My first process on Monday night and on Wednesday night I noticed some slight peeling around the soles of my feet. On Thursday when I took off my socks at the end of the day I was ecstatic/horrified so I saw that they were filled with loose pieces of skin. I finished losing weight on Sunday. I've definitely lost a lot of skin. The instructions recommend not actually tugging at the skin when it falls off, and I can definitely see how it can bring tears if you remove it before it's "done". So I just let the socks do the work for me. I am happy about these results. I felt no tenderness or sensitivity. I noticed a bit of dryness that I hadn't experienced before, so I put lotion on my feet and rubbed an old pair of socks every other night before bed. I use a pumice stone in the shower about once or twice a week and I think it's a great way to keep my new feet fresh. I will definitely be buying more and doing another scrub before spring/sandal weather hits. I see myself doing this scrub every month.
