
I have a laptop with a fingerprint reader and I find it very convenient to log into Windows 10. functionality on my desktop. I was skeptical that a $25 USB device would offer what I was looking for, but thought it was worth a try. I have a TNP Nano USB fingerprint reader and I plugged it into the USB port on the back of a wired keyboard. Windows recognized the device and installed the driver with no problems. I then went to the sign-in options in Windows 10 settings and just set up the fingerprint scanner. I've only been using the device for 1 week but I found it to work flawlessly several times a day with no lag. I will definitely update this review if continued use changes my mind. I've heard some people say that the USB fingerprint reader is a security risk because it can be easily disabled, but I don't really understand their case. If the reader is disabled, you must enter credentials for one of the other sign-in options on the computer.
