It was perfect, just what I wanted while it lasted. There was no problem holding my iPhone 7 plus in portrait (or landscape) or my 10 inch iPad. It has an ingenious little button that toggles between the right size for phones and the right size for tablets. I suspect the reviewers who said their device didn't fit just couldn't find the button. It's very easy to use once you know it's there. Flexible legs allowed him to balance on any surface. Sometimes I had to screw the lid back on. (Much better than the previous one that had a screw that I had to tighten with a screwdriver too many times.) One of the legs broke last week. Broken. I had it for 4 months. Balancing on two legs is difficult. With a bit of caution, using the broken leg to stop it from rolling, I can still get it to stand on the table. For my purposes, that makes it almost useless, but not entirely useless. not stable enough to trust iPad now.
