Review on Dell Laptop Battery E6420, E5430, E6520 & More - Long-Lasting Power For Inspiron & Vostro Models by Jason Bolden

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Technology will save the planet or make us kill ourselves.

How to rate this.? Powered down my E5430, put in this new battery, left it to charge overnight. Turn on the PC today (20 hours later) and it says "79% full and not charging" - popped it out and plugged it in again. now it's once again charging. What is this "IT Crowd"?I bought this to replace the original one year old battery which was not taking a charge and had expelled to 0%. That one started charging after i took it out to see the battery details for this new one. technology seems to be sh!t all around. I decided to keep this new battery as a back up while traveling or for power-pack free use - since the battery life seems to be very short for my needs (web and Adobe PS and DW)."Did you turn it of and turn it on again?" a.k.a. pop it out, and pop it in again. 86% full by the end of this writing.UPDATE: 2 days later. Charged to 100%. Pulled power adapter and used down to 10%, got the battery saver warning, ignored it. At 5%, it powered down my computer automatically (without giving me the option to allow/deny). Plugged power adapter back in, turned on PC = "5% and not charging" so i once again popped the battery in and out. Charging again. I want to troubleshoot myself in the face.

Pros
  • Worked Great
Cons
  • There may be compatibility issues with some software
