Will not work with 4th Gen Subaru Legacy Brakes

I finally ventured onto the front brakes on my 2001 Subaru Legacy GT and decided to replace the dust boots and rubber bushings for the lower caliper slide pins. After seeing other reviews (other than one I found after the fact) I figured this would help. I was wrong. Firstly, as mentioned in another review, the lower bushings for the caliper slide pin are oversized meaning they don't fit all the way in, defeating the purpose of replacing them in the first place. I haven't had any luck with replacing dust bags either. The tops sit snugly on the caliper pins, but the bottoms don't stick in the caliper bracket no matter what you try (screwdriver, thumbnail, etc.). I thought I put too much silicone grease on the pins and it didn't let it penetrate fully. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the bottom grooves of the dust caps on the original boots are wider than those on these replacements. I ended up reusing the originals as they were undamaged and easily reinserted after cleaning and re-oiling. high. I will try another brand in the future or just buy OEM and not worry about installation issues. I thought it would be a good brand to trust but maybe not for items where accuracy is important. Update 05/09/2017 My rotor is now "wrong" or "distorted" if you want to use a more popular but less accurate term. The lower bushing on the caliper bolt was pinched, causing abnormal pad wear. The two small bushings in this product were too thick because the sliding pin with the small bushing could not easily fit into the hole. I ended up removing the socket from the pin on one of them until I could install the correct one. As mentioned in another review, I had to shell out $35 for a caliper relocation kit from a Subaru parts store because the tiny rubber bushing that goes to the bottom pin is not sold separately. or cause the rubber to expand like other brake lubricants do.
