I bought this because I wanted a magnetic tank bag. Some of the reviews here have led me to believe the magnets are too small to be effective. This is anything but true. The instructions specifically state that if it weighs more than 2kg, you must wrap the strap around the handlebars and back to the bag. I tend to do it anyway, but I've ridden without a belt and haven't had any issues. It helps to have a windbreak, but just use the strap and you'll find this is a really great little bag.
