Review on πŸ”« Milton 14-Piece Hi-Flo V Style 1/4" Kit in Purple by Ernest Duckett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A real difference in tool performance

I've always used 3/8" male air hoses and 1/4" Type-C couplers. In a shop with a 240 volt industrial compressor and no pressure regulator, that's more than enough. But my 30-gallon, 120-volt home compressor can't boast the same power. I wondered how much the upgrade in plugs and connections could make up for the lack of supercharger capability, although I knew they should, at least on paper. I was also wondering about the durability as the plugs are aluminum. Finally I decided to give it a try and so far I am very satisfied. As for the performance - WOW! The first tool I tried was the IR231 Impact Gun and it was like using a completely different tool. The difference in torque was very noticeable when running unloaded and even more so when using the tool for real work. That was enough to make me happy with my decision, and other tools showed significant performance gains as well. I can't say anything about durability yet. My air tools at home haven't used much since I switched to them, so they haven't rotated. I take very good care of my tools so these plugs shouldn't be able to withstand constant mishandling, but something inevitably gets dropped, bumped or whatever and I'm still not sure they like brass or steel will hold . Pipes are made. Aluminum is much lighter and doesn't feel as strong. I understand that there are aluminum alloys that are extremely strong for their weight, but that doesn't mean Milton used one of those alloys. I'm keeping 1 star in my rating until I have them longer and see how well they hold up with more use.

Pros

Cons
