Power consumption maxxair 4-speed fan

I came back to write this review because I couldn't find any actual power consumption measurements for the maxxfan 4 speed model. Here are my measurements, within the capabilities of the gauge used. Battery at 12.2 VDC Lid open (unlimited) DC consumption at level 1-0.15a2-0.62a3-1.45a4-2.58a Lid closed (recirculation mode) DC consumption at level 4-2.70a Fan is running quiet at levels 1 and 2. Level 3 I would call good white noise. Level 4 is obnoxious in its own way, noisy, but I had to smash the windows more because they were whistling from the suction. I installed it into a fiberglass truck bed cover from Leer using the recommended butyl tape and Dicor self-leveling sealant. Installation went smoothly except that I decided to add a 1/2 inch thick ring of plywood inside to better support and trim the holes since the cover was only 5/8 inch thick and the maxxfan requires a minimum mounting thickness of 1 inch . I ordered a boost buck circuit to limit the voltage this fan sees to around 12V as I've seen in other reviews that they get damaged when the battery voltage rises due to alternator or solar charging. I haven't installed this yet.
