not as quiet as previous models

Bought because I already have the same model and I like how quiet it is. I installed this and it's not that quiet. In addition, the metal parts of the old one have now been replaced with plastic parts. like a limp

  • Very good value for money

A nice addition to HVAC systems

Chose Maxxair based on the review on Tik Tok. I am generally very satisfied with the product. The only complaint I have is the fan, when I first turn it on low speed it doesn't work, it starts up and then shuts off. I can use other 3 speeds. At the same time, my fan has 3 speeds instead of 4.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • There are doubts

Check the work before installation!

The fan blades are off axis or something so they rub against the sides of the case and create a terrible rumble. Luckily, before installing it, I connected the unit to a 12-volt battery to give it a test run. I would be very annoyed if I installed it in the roof and then discovered it. There isn't much room between the blades and the body, so any tolerance saving can create problems, so be careful. Too bad, because otherwise it looks like a good fan and is quite powerful, even if its…

Very easy to install

The hardest part was getting our old fan out of the roof of our van. Our original equipment manufacturer put at least 1/4" to 1/2" of rubber grommet over the old bolts and old flange. Great for rain, scraping buttocks. There were literally 28 screws in the old roof vent to find under all that gum goo. After everything was removed, the old vent came out and the new one snapped in place. Only 20 new screws included. Connect the black and white wires, slide in the inner cover, and all is quiet…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Power consumption maxxair 4-speed fan

I came back to write this review because I couldn't find any actual power consumption measurements for the maxxfan 4 speed model. Here are my measurements, within the capabilities of the gauge used. Battery at 12.2 VDC Lid open (unlimited) DC consumption at level 1-0.15a2-0.62a3-1.45a4-2.58a Lid closed (recirculation mode) DC consumption at level 4-2.70a Fan is running quiet at levels 1 and 2. Level 3 I would call good white noise. Level 4 is obnoxious in its own way, noisy, but I had to smash…
