Review on 🎮 Meowbit Programming Board Game Development Board: Microsoft Makecode Arcade Compatible, 160x128 Screen, macOS & Windows Support, with Orange Silicone Case by Luis Thompson

At the moment I don't recommend it for beginners, but an excellent board.

I don't recommend this for newbies at the moment as it's a Chinese product with most of the information online only in Chinese and while you can find everything you need you have to do some searching to find out to find it. Also, you'll have to use their closed Kittenblock app to program them as it doesn't work out of the box with Mu or other tools without patches for them to support the device. If you want it to work with other tools, the trick is that you have to set the baud rate to the unusual 1,000,000 in order to communicate with the MicroPython included on the board. With this set you can communicate normally in Putty or any other tool that can communicate with a virtual serial port. They have Discord and other resources, although currently the QR code in the English quick guide takes you to a Chinese page which isn't very helpful (they should fix that). Again, if you don't mind a little detective work, you can find out and all the documentation is there, although you'll need your browser to translate some of it for you. That aside the board itself is awesome and you get a lot of power for the price and it's a great board for little experimenters. It's an ESP32 with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/etc and a very nice TFT display, three addressable RGB neopixel LEDs on top, a tiny speaker (looks like the same guy as Micro:Bit 2.0), ecosystem compatible micro: Bit over compatible edge connector, TF/microSD slot and normal A/B/Reset buttons and sensors. The MicroPython implementation seems very complete with support for all hardware and is definitely fun to play with.
