Ideal for beginners, children and adults.

This is a very fun and educational toy to introduce you or your children to programming. This allows you to download the game you've created to play on the go. It's well made, looks good, and comes with everything you need to get started.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • High Price

Fun device but no support

Overall fun to play with and works as intended. However, there isn't much support, so I'm deducting a star for that. For example, there's a micro SD card slot, but there's no clear way to use it to store or read from the device. I tried to contact the manufacturer but it is based entirely in China and I have not received a reply. Maybe I'm at the wrong address

  • Free for educational purposes

This is a great little variant of Microbit

This is a great little variant of Microbit. You can easily create your own games or creatively modify existing game templates and download them to your device (there can only be one game on board at a time). My 9 year old cracked it and played with it the first weekend we had. I highly recommend this for kids and adults. The only downside I can see is that it can't (easily) be used as a regular Microbit controller - it doesn't have a radio transmitter - so it's really only meant for handheld…

Easy and fun! - Computers and accessories

My kid kept asking for a game console, but I had no intention of buying it :). My kid took some programming lessons and made the game himself so I bought this one. I don't have a good manual, so it was hard for me at first, but easy, just like with a USB stick. The kid loves it and I am happy that she is now taking programming lessons.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive

Better be ready to learn fast!

Instructions are almost non-existent as they are written in a language other than English and internet searches (mostly) only return promotional videos. If you're new to this sort of thing, you're in for a steep learning curve. It's not plug and play but with a few drinks I got my son's (6 year old) game he made. every time his son wants to learn something new about it or learn another language (I already know 3 English, Spanish and Korean). The Raspberry Pi is more expensive but easier to use…

Works great with MakeCode Arcade sparks a spark for kids

After running a coding camp for kids using the Raspberry Pi, the most common request was to be able to program games. By looking at what's out there to get kids interested in coding, MakeCode Arcade has become a viable platform. When making a game, just go to https://arcade.makecode.com/ and start coding or find an example. This is an impressive tool. Meowbit allows students to download games they create onto a portable device. This was easy to do on my laptop via USB. No drivers need to be…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

I don't recommend this for newbies at the moment as it's a Chinese product with most of the information online only in Chinese and while you can find everything you need you have to do some searching to find out to find it. Also, you'll have to use their closed Kittenblock app to program them as it doesn't work out of the box with Mu or other tools without patches for them to support the device. If you want it to work with other tools, the trick is that you have to set the baud rate to the…

  • This is great
