Review on πŸ”§ Bell Automotive BellAire 3000 Emergency Tire Inflator: Efficient and Reliable by Patrick Burton

Great little pump that does everything advertised

The last two gas stations in my area that offered free air eventually switched to "paid" air so that solved it to me. I was looking for a good portable air pump. I read many reviews and finally settled on this little gem that matches all the reviews I read. It's a nice compact size, comes in a thin zipped cloth case and is powered by your vehicle's electrical system. See that little silver horizontal piece at the bottom of the pump? This is a small, permanently mounted, flexible LED that can be pulled out of its holder in the housing and switched on with the red rotary switch. The air hose is completely wrapped around the housing in the duct. The bracket, which screws onto the valve stem, is securely attached to the end of the air hose. There is a small brass bleed valve that allows you to fine tune your tire pressure if you overinflate it slightly. "The warning light comes on. I used this little pump a couple of times to inflate the tires before finally replacing the staves. I had to use them again last night. My front tire pressure dropped to 25psi and I had to increase it to 40psi. As it was raining constantly I had to wait for the rain to stop as this unit is not waterproof. Following the instructions, I started the car, plugged it into the cigarette lighter, and then brought the device to the tire. Since it was night, I pulled out the flex light and turned it on. The small light doesn't put out much light, but it's enough for you to see what you're doing, so it definitely does the job. I screwed the air hose all the way in, then set the correct pressure by turning the red frame, just over 40psi. Then I pressed the "ON" toggle switch and the device worked. It took the device about two minutes to pressurize the tires from 25psi to 40psi. The device is not too loud, but not quiet either. Then, when the pressure on the bezel is reached, the needle touches the brass protrusion inside the bezel and the device turns off. Then turn off the "ON" switch. Packing the device away, I noticed that it's not hot or even that warm - it's specifically designed to stay cool. Well I would say that this little device does everything that is asked of it. An added benefit is the various attachments that can be attached to the hose to inflate other items such as footballs and the like. Small enough to toss in the back seat of a car or store under the seat, I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive high pressure pump. Very happy with this purchase. Well done Bell. The only recommendation I could make is to weatherproof the unit, but that's just a suggestion.
