If you don't cut the AUX cable, you're missing out. These devices are game changers. This is the fourth device I have owned and my favorite so far. Therefore.- AUX jack does not come out. All others were bi-directional, meaning you could have a male-to-male wire. While it's great in theory, it's on my boat and I wanted something that would maintain a good connection to the BT receiver. It's small so doesn't sag like the others I've had. It's great if you have other ports or a screen under the AUX port. I can't talk to the BT 30" range as I'm always at that distance on the boat.
