We live in Southern California. The sea is cold here in spring and early summer. Bought for my 12 year old daughter. The size chart was accurate. Fits well. My daughter used it on trips to Catalina and Newport Beach in early June. The only kid at day camp who brought a wetsuit. The only kid who plays in the water all day. Other children who were brave enough to enter the water immediately complained, did not dive and got out of the water prematurely. My daughter swam and boogie-woogie for fun. She liked the color and style even after seeing the famous brands. Local sporting goods stores only stocked name-brand wetsuits, starting at double and up to six times the price. Sure, these brands are stylish and made with the finest materials and craftsmanship, but this suit looked good on my child for a small price. She'll outgrow him in six months, so I'm glad we have this instead. I haven't measured but I doubt the material is actually 3mm. I use Body Glove 5mm and compared to this brand it seems to skimp a bit on material thickness (feel only, not measurement) and quality but it keeps you warm. If she outgrows this I will consider a larger size from the same brand. She may be able to switch to Rip Curl, O'Neill or Body Glove etc when she stops growing but right now these brands are too expensive for a fast growing child.
