Review on πŸ–€ Black Ombre Mizuno Men's Rider Running Shoes by Steve Washington

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The new jerseys shredded my legs on race day and my wife in a bloodbath.

I've been using Wave Riders since 2011 and did an Ironman with it in 2014. This year (2020) I bought a knitted version for me and my wife. I ran 2 or 3 short runs (less than 5 miles) before the Miami Half Marathon and they covered me with small blisters all over my body, although they weren't painful as they didn't burst or bleed. On race day my feet got cut on all my toes and even the soles at mile 6. I was in great pain (no exaggeration) to finish the race (and at a slower pace because I was bleeding so profusely) and at the finish I could barely walk and my toes were covered in my blood. It was only a half marathon! What if it's full? I would never finish! It took 2 weeks to heal and my trip to Miami was ruined as I could barely walk. Today I attempted a short 5k run and the blisters came back. The same happened to my wife. Don't buy these shoes. I have to send it back. The materials they use cause insane friction and heat and you can feel it within a 1 mile run. Can't believe others aren't screaming for them in all the reviews.

Pros
  • Very convenient. Highly recommended.
Cons
  • The shoes only lasted a few weeks. Expect a lot more from Mizuno. I'm disappointed.
