    Type of review

I've been using Wave Riders since 2011 and did an Ironman with it in 2014. This year (2020) I bought a knitted version for me and my wife. I ran 2 or 3 short runs (less than 5 miles) before the Miami Half Marathon and they covered me with small blisters all over my body, although they weren't painful as they didn't burst or bleed. On race day my feet got cut on all my toes and even the soles at mile 6. I was in great pain (no exaggeration) to finish the race (and at a slower pace because I was…

    Pros
    • Very convenient. Highly recommended.
    Cons
    • The shoes only lasted a few weeks. Expect a lot more from Mizuno. I'm disappointed.

Light and cozy in my opinion.

Received many compliments. Definitely a bright color. They stand out and feel very light. The bottom part of the shoe is too big for my liking.

    Pros
    • It's great there. I like them
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for high-intensity interval training.

    Excellent shoes in my review

Although I thought I would buy the same shoes I ran in (my fault) I received a different version based on manufacturer changes. They're a bit narrower, but when the product came out the upper got newer and stretchier. So far so good after 5 starts. I like to land and push off!

    Pros
    • Feels good shoes
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for people with narrow feet.

    I love Mizuno!

I wear these shoes more often than I thought I would. Mizunos are the only shoes that fit my feet perfectly. Better than any sneakers you will find in a retail store.

    Pros
    • Very convenient. Simply. looks good to me
    Cons
    • May be too heavy for some runners

    First time in Mizuno

I used to have plantar fasciitis and during that time I became very picky about my shoes. I recently started running again and ran in a Pegasus 36. Not great, not terrible, but needs more cushioning. I found this neon yellow model in my size for $64.99 and at that price I decided to give it a try. My knees and feet finished my runs much less fatigued. I'm considering buying a few more at this price just because I like them so much. Also, I'm 245 pounds and wear 15. They fit well and support my…

    Pros
    • Replaced my old pair of the same shoes. They're great, but didn't last as long as I hoped
    Cons
    • May be too hard for some runners

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Great cushion for heavy runners

Great shoes! I run about 15-20 miles a week and this shoe provides enough cushioning for my 42 year old bones. I bought these shoes because I'm a heavy runner (235 pounds) and need to train every day, either on the track or in the gym. I couldn't be happier with the fit and comfort.

    Pros
    • Looks like new after a year of daily use
    Cons
    • I had to go back because it wasn't enough. I'll probably order a size larger.

    mizunya! my judgement

The fit is true to size. It looks like pictures on the internet. Very comfortable, perfect amount of pillows in the right places. It feels like a foot massage in a boot.

    Pros
    • Very comfortable when power walking or running. The feeling of an air cushion under your feet.
    Cons
    • Maybe not stylish enough for everyday wear.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

The fit differs from other Waverider versions.

I've been wearing the Mizuno Wave Rider for ten years now and in this version my toes started to go numb after about 7-8 miles. I was able to overcome this by changing the laces, but they seem to put a lot more pressure on the top of the foot compared to the previous model.

    Pros
    • My first pair of Mizunos. i love it very much Nice style, light weight and great price.
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for people with hammer toes

    Practical: my rating

Bought these for my husband who has been using Mizunos for a long time. He finds this material (knit top) more comfortable than the previous model.

    Pros
    • Very comfortable and love the color
    Cons
    • Limited color choices

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

    Less than expected

I ordered a size 11.5 and the shoe looks more like an 11. I even compared it to other Mizuno 11.5 running shoes and it's about 3mm smaller and much smaller than the Asics 11.5. The color combination (black and blue) is great but I will have to return it.

    Pros
    • Noice!
    Cons
    • May not provide adequate arch support

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent sneakers, the best in my rating

I've been wearing Mizuno for many years, I'd say around 20 years, so I love them. The only downside I have with them is that I love the old models more than the new ones. Mostly colors, wish the old colors would come back. Great running shoes!

    Pros
    • Comfortable shoes at a good price
    Cons
    • Can not be non-slip

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

You should be aware of my rating.

Bought this shoe because I read the reviews and they seem good, but this is a very unsupportive shoe, especially for people with a lot of poop, my son actually broke his foot in this shoe.

    Pros
    • Great shoes!!!
    Cons
    • I like Mizuno shoes but they are not what I expected... they are too tight and the fabric upper is not perfect.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    SUITABLE for tall/tall boys (I'm 6ft 7in, 350lbs)

I love these shoes! I'm 6ft 7" and 350lbs, have a long history of foot issues (plantar fasciitis, gout etc) and their plate technology really helps support and spring my step. They are a bit tight at first but after a few days they loosened up to my usual shape/feel. I will buy a new pair every year. Thank you Mizuno for knowing what you are doing!

    Pros
    • I love these shoes...
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for those with a split leg.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Amazing price, amazing performance.

Fits perfectly, shoes work great. The negative reviews on other sites and YouTube must be from shoe snobs who want the shoes to work for them.

    Pros
    • I absolutely love the Mizuno and they are very comfortable and supportive.
    Cons
    • The Jersey version is smaller than the original Waverider.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice to look at! Fits good!

I bought these shoes for my out of school kid. I made this decision after doing a lot of research on running shoes that are good for people with heel pain. He informed me that they are true to size, offer excellent support and reduce heel/foot pain.

    Pros
    • As comfortable as walking on clouds. Lots of room in the toe area. Great for neutral runners.
    Cons
    • May not be breathable enough for hot weather

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reluctant but glad to have stuck with Mizuno Wave Rider

I resisted this as this new Rider model was jersey and not standard. I was pleasantly surprised that the fit was great and didn't slip. I thought my foot was sloppy as the top would stretch. It didn't stretch and my leg stayed tight. I love the driving feel and handling of my new Riders. Many happy miles ahead. Mizuno is true and remains true.

    Pros
    • I always go 1/2 size larger than I usually wear.
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for people with plantar fasciitis.

    Revainrating 1 out of 5

These sneakers are worn out in 3 months, NOT HAPPY

I was surprised that the soles were already worn out and looked when I bought them on February 9th. I just can't believe it's only 3 months until these sneakers are finished.

    Pros
    • Fit a little tighter than my 21. But great show. Slightly less support on steep descents.
    Cons
    • May cause blisters or discomfort with prolonged use

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Great shoes, great fit

I bought them for walking and running. I am always satisfied with Mizuno shoes. They are light and fit well. The size is very accurate.

    Pros
    • One of the best all round shoes I've bought in a long time and very light and comfortable no matter how long you wear them.
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for people with bones

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    I only like Mizuno

These shoes are fantastic. Fit and quality are second to none. Running in Nike gives me problems with plantar fasciitis. Adidas gives me back pain. The Mizuno has always been my favorite running shoe and this one is no different. If you have leg or back pain from other branded products these are worth trying. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.

    Pros
    • Good price
    Cons
    • Cannot be waterproof

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

Torn inside is the best in my rating

I ordered them on February 29th, received them via Prime a few days later. Today is 04/20/2020, the inside of the shoe is torn. I understand that I walk/jog 8-10 miles a day but it should last a little over 50 days. They are very comfortable but not worth ordering if you are serious about brisk walking/jogging.

    Pros
    • Great shoes 👍
    Cons
    • May take time to crack
