It was great. When replacing a wire, I recommend securing the end of the old wire to the engine compartment with safety wire (or a suitable duplicate) before passing it through the firewall. Then tie a wire to the motor end of the new cable and feed it through the firewall. If you lubricate the outer shell with silicone grease or Sil-Glide (NAPA), it will come through easily. This repair only took about an hour and spent most of my time removing the hood latch (which I reused), fender liner and headlight. The hood now comes off properly.
