All needles arrived sharp and well packaged. The end is unthreaded, which I knew when I bought it. So when I tried inserting my jewelry into the hollow end to push it through in one motion, it really didn't work. As a result, I had to remove the needle and push the jewelry that way. I would definitely not recommend this method because it hurts like hell. Maybe next time I'll buy another way with threads to hang the jewelry. They worked for what I needed this time (upper cartilage piercing). Ps. They were so sharp when I aligned the point of the needle to the point on my ear that it pierced the skin and caused the tiny point to bleed. It went through my ears like butter.
