Superb Motorola quality combined with the TA280's excellent volume levels (plus control) makes it suitable for use even in crowded and noisy environments. Its ease of use and stealth make it an invaluable addition to Talk Abouts, but there's room for improvement. My biggest complaint is that the TA280/289 doesn't let you adjust the volume of the beeps (ring tones/menu tones/etc.). This creates very annoying loud noises when this earbud is only about an inch from the eardrum. The TA280/289 DO allows you to turn off the horns, but that makes things a little more difficult (especially when they're hidden under outer clothing). Another complaint I had was with the design of the PTT/MIC housing. I'd prefer something simpler to use with gloves on (the PTT button is 1/2 inch from the mic, and pressing with gloves obscures the mic). 289, not these devices, and I would buy it again if I lost it, but I really wish they improved it.
