Reason for buying this aviary: As a transport box only, not as a primary habitat for a hamster or mouse. The packaging says gerbils, but gerbils can't be in plastic containers because they would chew them through. Please note this before purchasing. Specifications: The wheel is too small, its length is 4 inches. Do not use on mice or dwarf hamsters. The case size measured from the bottom is about 77 inches. Extremely little space for the main body. Please do not buy as living space for your animal. Due to the size of this hull, it is recommended that it be used as a road transporter only. The bait cages are small, only 9 1/2 inches high. I don't recommend connecting multiple cells together for what you get. I couldn't fit an 8 inch wheel in because of the height, which is the minimum wheel size for most midget types. The pan is only an inch deep for bedding. Extremely small for burrowing animals, therefore not suitable for living spaces. You can only fit a tiny skin in these, the water bottle goes up instead of the sides. Problem: When I assembled it everything worked great until I put the top on and noticed the latch for the door wouldn't latch, making this pet cage unsafe for pets. Because the latch and top are made of thin plastic, you can't bend the pieces together like you can with a wired door. This is the only animal cage I've seen where the door that opens is made entirely of plastic. I went ahead and issued an answer. It was not possible to replace the product, so I will try to order again, hoping that the next cell will not be defective. However, I see the price has increased by $10 since I bought it last week. I'll have to wait for the cage to drop in price again before trying a second time.
