I bought a humidifier with a built in humidistat that never worked properly and wasn't properly humidifying the space I store my guitars in. It kept shutting off before it got close to the desired target humidity. When I realized there was a device like this Inkbird humidistat, I decided to give it a try. It took several minutes to bypass the humidistat control on the humidifier with a simple piece of wire. Now Inkbird manages the humidifier's power supply and does its job perfectly. I have a couple of hygrometers in the room and the built in Inkbird hygrostat seems pretty accurate. Summer will come when I need to turn off the dehumidifier, this controller will be great because it has two power options, one will provide power when the humidity is too low and the other will provide power when the humidity is too high. Genius.
