You get what you pay for.

Let me start by saying that I've used snaps before. I'm not new to installing latches. There are three problems with them. The first two types belong together. The waves on the lids and backs are too soft and wrinkle rather than stretch. The flare tool is irregularly shaped so it actually flattens the shaft instead of expanding it. I found it worked a little better when I first used a swipe to launch a small expansion, then the flare tool worked better. But even then, the shafts mostly broke and folded instead of having the neatly twisted appearance I was used to. The third problem is that they are definitely NOT designed for heavy use. I would say average at best. I tried using them to make a seat sling on a porch swing frame I was given. Even with 5 seat belts, they couldn't handle 140#. Thus, the cost of the fasteners and two rolls of strap was wasted. If you're looking for heavy-duty fasteners, keep looking because this isn't it.
