Review on 🚲 Saris MTR Bike Hitch Car Rack: Expandable Hitch Bicycle Rack for 1-4 Bikes with Add-On Extensions by Mark Colbert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The next best thing for 1Up.

Very good stand but not as strong as the stand alone stand and I will be going back to the stand alone stand once they are back in stock. Folding/folding arms is for me a solution in search of a problem. I'm talking about how the racks that hold the bikes fold vertically, not how the entire rack folds towards the tailgate. I never remove my frame and never have to fold it for storage. The extra pivot points just make it a lot less rigid. I think if you really had to fold the shelf up and put it in a closet or whatever that would be a plus, but for me that's just a minus. The included 1.25" to 2" adapter is solid enough, but there's a lot of movement and play throughout the rack. It doesn't touch, but it's not HEAVY either. The actual attachment mechanisms and levers work great. The stand works perfectly. It looks good. It's easy to use. I think it's a good buy but just be aware of the lack of stiffness. If that bothers you, you might be better off with an alternative. Built-in locks and security devices are a deterrent, not a real protection. I wouldn't rely on them to hold my bikes securely and I definitely wouldn't rely on the flimsy locking pin they include to hold the trunk to my car. I'm pretty sure it's easy to remove with a sledgehammer.
