This ribbed comb is the tool I needed to clean the coils on a brand new heat pump. I had a basement renovation and the heat pump was installed before the floor was primed, sanded and installed. Of course, the contractors didn't cover or clean it as part of the job. When I turned the device on, the smell of toxins and other debris that had built up on the coils was killer. It took a very long time to clean the coils (I searched youtube for a guide on how to properly clean a heat pump. Heat pumps should be serviced annually.) but now it's clean and free of any toxic particles entering the room.
