First of all I like the feel of the gauge. It is durable and has a nice non-slip appearance. The controls are right-handed with a wheel for changing functions. A clear and bright LCD display is located on the bottom of the meter for easy reading. The probes are also of good quality and sufficiently long. The kit also included a thermocouple to measure temperature. The built-in room temperature sensor and flashlight are also nice extras. There's also a 15-minute auto-shutoff to save battery, which I think is a good amount of time. I admit that I haven't tried all the features yet. I have compared the voltage readings (1.5 VDC, 6 VDC, 12 VDC, 24 VAC, 120 VAC, 240 VAC) to a calibrated NIST traceable voltmeter and can say that the meter was accurate, the difference being a fraction of a volt not exceeded at higher voltages. I also compared the frequency meter to two other meters I have and found it to match them. Using the clamp on the booster probe for 1/4 and 1/2 hp single phase AC motors showed that the amp readings met my expectations. The Non-Contact Voltage Detector is really handy to check for the presence of voltage in an AC circuit without using a sensor. Simply place the meter next to the conductor and it will tell you whether it is live or not. A probe can be used for hard-to-reach places. The meter will display "H” or "L” if the signal is low or high voltage. From my own testing, 24VAC will beep "L" and 120VAC will beep "H". I don't have calibrated decade boxes, but by using the meter to measure several 1% resistors in the kΩ and mΩ range, I got the resistance readings I would expect. When used as a continuity meter, it responds almost immediately. Overall, I am very satisfied with this measuring device and can recommend it.
