Review on πŸ’Ί Blue Serta Ashland Ergonomic Home Office Chair: Memory Foam Cushioning, 360-Degree Mobility, Chrome-Finished Stainless Steel Base by Paula Brown

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Recommended (if the armrests of this chair do not interfere with sitting close to the table)

Pros β€’ I like the material of the chair. You won't get that sticky, sticky feeling you usually get when you're wearing shorts and your skin is sitting on a leather chair. Especially in any warm or humid environment, it breathes better. β€’ Well padded with memory foam and coils to avoid pressure pain on lower legs when sitting for long periods. β€’ I wanted armrests but they are not needed. in the path of my hands they are quite wide and set back far enough not to disturb me. β€’ The armrests are NOT adjustable, but they fit under my IKEA table, which is a simple flat surface with legs with no drawer or thickness. (See the spacing specifications in the photos in the listing to determine if this is right for you.) These full specifications will be very helpful in determining how this chair will fit into your existing desk configuration. If they didn't fit under my desk, I wouldn't want a chair. β€’ He's stylish. I am using it in an apartment that is also used for Airbnb rentals and I need something to give it the feel of a hotel room. It works. β€’ You can adjust the height of the seat (see detailed specifications) β€’ It reclines and has a knob to adjust the recline force or it can be locked to prevent tipping β€’ Great instructions included, the only tool you need . It comes assembled and is a quality tool with a comfortable grip. β€’ Compared to all the other chairs I've had, assembly was really easy (see photo series). β€’ The backrest is directly under my shoulders. This allows me to "twist" the stretch in a way that a high back can't. Also, I can rest my elbow on the back of the chair to stretch my shoulders and back, which I didn't think of before this chair but appreciate now. Cons β€’ The only real downside is that there is no headrest (if that's a requirement for you). I spend many hours in a chair and thought I might need it, but since I got this chair I haven't thought twice about it. I find the very slightly reclined seat angle of this chair to be pleasant. I don't use this for gaming. So if I was so tired that I had to put my head back, I would still have a hard time typing. Also, I don't think the style of this chair would look right with a headrest anyway. Additional Information β€’ I was not paid for this review and did not receive a discount. β€’ I needed a stylish chair that looked like it belonged in a hotel room. but worked for me long hours of sitting and working, I was sold to this one by several others I followed on Revain because of the memory foam pillow with coils, design and tilt. It was between this and another Serta and it looked more comfortable. β€’ It had some scuffs/mill scratches on the base of the chair's chrome star base (slightly visible in the photo). I called and spoke to the service department and spoke to "Rio" who was very nice and helpful. She immediately sent a replacement. β€’ The seat cushion has velcro to hold it in place at the base, but after a few weeks of heavy use I found the seat cushion shifted a bit. The velcro doesn't seem to match that on the base. This is a newer range of chairs so these minor imperfections are to be expected. As I mentioned before, the service so far has been amazing and far exceeded these small issues. I will contact the seller to inquire about this and update the information β€’ The campaign wooden table I am using with this is from the global market: [.] UPDATE: 11/12/16 After contacting customer service, I was sent a replacement seat cushion. So far I'm still enjoying the chair. One thing I plan on doing in the future is to get a beige Serta to match my thicker desk. It has a half armrest that allows the chair to slide under my thicker desk while staying at a higher height. , I had to buy a lumbar support pillow to allow for a more upright posture when working in the office. I alternate using a lumbar pillow and not, sometimes daily, sometimes for weeks or longer, whichever is more convenient. It's like lying in bed, a position becomes uncomfortable after a while. Although I think they could add some more padding to the back area as it seems smaller than what they did for the seat cushion. For this reason I can deduct a star. Also, I'm thinking about removing the wheels from this chair to convert it into a living room and then getting another Serta Serta Leighton Stoneware Beige Home Office Chair. The reason for this is because I have another thick-edged table and this armrest design . not really compatible with my desired seating position in relation to the edge of the table. Not all the tables are like mine, so it's not the chairs. However, the other chair mentioned has a partial armrest which would allow me to reach the height and closeness I need (I think) other than a regular office chair with folding armrests. So far I've used it quite well and with pleasure, but now I'm thinking about how I can optimize my sitting position.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Embarrassing
