I bought these because it's almost impossible to get brown socks that aren't super thin. They are thick, but not thick like wool tourist socks. Depending on the size of your foot, they are of course thicker than a heel. I only wanted brown but the only way to get it is to buy three packs of other colors. If you have larger shoes, take the largest size socks so they are thicker. I went up a few sizes and thought this sock had bulges but there weren't. This means you can get very thick socks, but not too thick to wear comfortably with dress shoes.
