Honestly, these things are made for disposable masks. They're not meant to be reused, which is what I've tried. I gave five stars because I think they will do their job very well. I made some sheet masks and put them inside. I put them in my sheath, worried the nose might ruin my washer or dryer. Then I put the mask on again and again. The nosepiece lasted about 3 weeks with almost constant wear and multiple washes before breaking in half. I cut the seam and replaced the nose piece, but the new nose piece may have come loose. So here's my solution: my masks consist of two layers with an interchangeable n95 filter in between. I place the nose piece between the layers and glue it to the inner layer of fabric. Since it might peel off when washing, I bought a small nylon mesh bag for washing masks. If the nosepiece comes off, it should stay in the pocket. Update: As I suspected, the aluminum structure hardens and eventually breaks. I wore the same mask over and over and the tip of the nose lasted about a week. So tell the wise, don't sew these things in place.
