A common complaint I hear from a lot of people (my family and I included!) is that the charging cables that come with most smartphones are short! If you plug the cord into the wall, your phone is tied to just a few feet of cord, so you're almost sitting on a wall outlet. These cables are 10 feet long (yes, TEN feet) for convenience wherever you charge your phone. These are not Apple products, but they are Apple approved. This is important to me as in the past we have used 'foreign' cables which get hot in the connection port after the phone has been on the charger for a few hours. And let's be honest. Buying everything directly from Apple is expensive! So if I find a non-Apple product, I check to see if it's Apple approved (so if there's a problem, Apple can't say they're not responsible and refuse to fix the phone/tablet or to replace). Good value for money.
