I have tried many different reverse osmosis systems and this is my favorite in the collector category. Pluses: * Automatic Shutoff Valve (ASV) is not included in the manifold, eliminating the need for it when using a permeate pump * Quick-change filters are conveniently stage 3 outlet and stage 4 inlet. 3 permeates for tank storage, and with a few extras Fittings allows water to flow from the tank through Stage 4 when the faucet is open. With many other collector systems this is not an option. Cons: * The drain saddle is a bit finicky - if the saddle rotates a bit (which happens on impact, even when inflated), the drain gets a bit noisy. To solve this problem, order the Watt Drain Adapter 164014 and remove the saddle. This issue can also cause brine to leak at the base of the faucet.* The fitting on the tank is 1/4" - I prefer 3/8" for best flow to the faucet.* The diaphragm is not high flow and is consistent with a permeate pump, for example, it can take some time in winter for the storage tank to be filled. In Arizona, the temperature of tap water varies greatly depending on the season. In summer, the power of this unit doubles. When installing I used an Aquatec ERP-500, a "quiet pump" that doesn't click, I could switch it to a Watts unit as the noise doesn't bother me and I think Watts is more efficient. Since the permeate pump is actually a check valve, if you want to use a post filter instead of storing the fourth stage water in a tank, you'll need two tees and some extra hoses to create a bypass. diagram below. Since the faucet came out of the manifold I decided to install an alkaline filter before connecting to the faucet which was a nice addition taste wise. All in all a good system - you just have to pay attention to the details when connecting. As a side note, I've seen a lot of feedback on stage 1 and 2 filter clogs. It is important to remember that there is no one size fits all filtration system. Test your water (especially well water) and find out what you need before reverse osmosis. In my case, a whole house mud filter was required for the reverse osmosis system to work as intended.
