Review on πŸ”§ Versatile Raven 6 in 1 Screwdriver: Get the Job Done with Comfort Grip by Jeffrey Choudhury

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This screwdriver gets the job done nine times out of ten.

Over the years I've accumulated many tools that look like screwdrivers and nuts to service my American and foreign cars, bikes and other gadgets that I can't remember using. I don't need another screwdriver. But nine times out of ten or nineteen times out of twenty Phillips #1 or #2 or a 1/4 or 3/16 will be flat. And this is Raven 6. I have several of these tools with six or eight interchangeable hex bits and they come in very handy. But if one bit is used, the other five or seven must be somewhere else. Maybe in the handle or on the front of the handle. And changing small parts with greasy fingers usually leads to swearing. I bought Raven 6 for its simplicity. The design is well thought out and consists of only 4 components: a handle, a (double-sided) screwdriver shaft and two double-sided screwdrivers. The shank and bits have ball bearing detents so they stay in place when snapped into place. The handle is ergonomically designed with three thumb rests (two can be awkward with slotted screws, four make them too narrow). I deducted one star in the ergonomics category for the fit of the drive shaft in the handle. As opposed to the smooth installation of the hex bits into the drive shaft (never more than 30 degrees), the drive shaft only enters the handle in two positions that are 180 degrees apart. This is still a 5 star rating. PS: The driveshaft can also serve as a 3/16 and 1/4 wrench (the text on the Revain page says 5/16 and the picture shows 3/16 which it is). It's okay, but I can't remember the last time I saw them.
