Weight display delay - no backlight

Mainly backlight. This is very important to me as my large mixing bowl tends to cast a large shadow on the scales. Without lighting, you need to put the flashlight on the counter. I thought it might just be a bad block but Revain sent me a second one and it doesn't have a backlight either. And no, it's not dark. I took it into the bathroom with the door closed and the light off. There is no backlight. Another problem is the delay in registering the weight. This is particularly annoying since it's a 'feature' they had to build into this new scale. My previous scales, including Taylor, didn't have this problem. The problem is they don't want the scale to appear indecisive and oscillate between 200 and 201 grams. So the weight on the display doesn't change until it sees a bigger change, and once the weight stops changing, it locks. I'm a serious home baker and will explain why this is important to me (and every baker). When deciding on one of my dough types, I want to measure out 57 grams of water. Not 56, not 58. So I start slowly pouring water into the bowl. It takes a while to get going, but once it's up and running it keeps up with the changing weight. It's good. But once I approach about 54g I stop overstuffing so I'll stop watering for a moment. Now I want to drip more water until I'm at 57. But it refuses to register the change until it sees enough. Until it finally changes, it shows 62. Now I have to start pouring the water back with a spoon. So if you only weigh big things like apples or if real time accuracy is not important then this is for you. On the plus side, I have no doubt that this is correct. And I'm glad it only has two scales (ounces/pounds and grams). So many other scales pride themselves on having more units than any other type. You have grams and then you can switch them to milliliters. That's absurd. You will never be different. But I digress.
