There was also a dark area on the inside of the rear passenger rotor.
I have a 1997 540i. The included brackets didn't fit the rear calipers and the guide pin boots didn't allow for dust caps on the end, so I reused the originals. There was also a blunt area on the inside of the rear passenger rotor, which hopefully doesn't affect braking performance. But the important components, pads and rotors fit perfectly.
