Review on XWJNE Inverter Control Charging Gold 24V by Carlos Barrett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Runs fine at 2000w rated load on a 4 day hike

Update 4: I've spent 4 months driving across the country and using this inverter very intensively almost every day. It worked perfectly. No problem powering my Instant Pot and stove at the same time every time. Update 3: I took it on a 4 day trip to Shasta Trinity along with my instant pot and stove top, both rated at 1000w. I turned them on at the same time to cook and the inverter worked fine. (See video). Then the nights got as cold as the hot days, so I turned on the electric blanket for the night. I'm telling you, having 2000 watts of power on hand is a real luxury when you're camping in the middle of nowhere. So I still don't know why the inverter failed testing one day right after installation. It's still possible that my tension was the problem, but I can't reproduce that. All I can tell you is try it yourself and see if it works. If that fails, the display will show diagnostic information and should tell you if it's due to overload, low input voltage, or something else. I noticed that the manual says 92.5% efficiency, which sounds about right for a pure sine wave. converter. The information on the Amazon website that says <90% must be wrong. By the way, I used two 4-gauge wire, which is equivalent to 1-gauge. And the cable still got hot after a while. You will definitely need something thicker than the single 4 gauge wire that comes with the inverter if you plan to run it at maximum power. Update 2: The seller asked me to write down the error so he can pass it on to his technicians. So I lugged my kettle and ceramic heater into the garage, plugged them in, and started recording. And guess what? was not disappointed this time. First I connected a 1000w kettle and set the heater to 750w and the water was well boiled in minutes. I then cranked the heater up to 1500 watts and it ran for 20 minutes before turning it off because it was getting warmer in my tiny garage. The inverter got a little warm, but worked perfectly. The input voltage remained constant at the level of 12.9-13 V all the time. So what's going on here? One possibility is the air temperature. When I tested right after install it was 95F weather. Now she is back at 80F. Another possibility is that my battery voltage somehow dropped after disconnecting and reconnecting during installation. Unfortunately, I didn't check the voltage at the time, so I don't know for sure. (My car normally charges the battery when the voltage drops below 12.5V, but it may not charge immediately after I reconnect the battery.) Next week I'll be doing a distributed hike in 95F using a pressure cooker and Stove. each with an output of 1000 watts. I'll get back to you with a video when I get back. For now, however, I'm updating the rating back to a 4 because it's running at 1750 watts. ---- Update 1: The seller finally got back to me and is willing to work with me to fix the issue. So I am increasing it to 3 stars. By the way, this inverter is a true sine wave. See Fig. ---- At first I wanted to work at Renogy, a company headquartered in the US. Their products have a good reputation and are recommended by the Bob Well channel. Unfortunately, the 2000w inverter wasn't the right size for my limited space - the length didn't include the connectors on the back that stick out almost an inch - so I had to send it back. Then I came across this inverter that was perfect for my space. Now I regret it. This inverter is only suitable for starting a 6 liter 1000w instant pot; You can't turn on the stove and burner at the same time like I originally planned. Before installing I did a test with a 1500w ceramic heater but I only connected it to check operation and didn't let it run for more than 15 seconds. I know this is a big mistake, I'm new to inverter design and it never occurred to me that a 2000w inverter could only be good for a 1000w pressure cooker. Now I may have to tear it down, spend 2 weeks drilling and installing it in my car and after careful planning and 2000 watts start over. Either that or I'll have to live with the inconvenience of turning on the stove in series and then turning on the burner.
