The perfect balance of functionality and portability

the price of unnamed keyboards. In the end I chose Smart Keyboard and it was a good choice. I was concerned it would be poor typing, but was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was to type on. Key travel is decent, similar to my 2016 MacBook Pro. There's no tactile click and activation strength seems linear, but I'm totally fine with that as I prefer that feel anyway. The keyboard is a bit heavier, especially compared to the Smart Cover. As with the Apple Smart Folio, this Smart Keyboard does not protect the edges of an iPad from drops, but I've always been careful with my iPads. Basically, if you treat an iPad the same way you treat a laptop, you'll be fine. The keyboard's exterior is finished with a typical Apple Smart Cover material - a somewhat stubborn matte finish. It absorbs grease and other stains, but is easily removed with a damp cloth. The keyboard is also designed to activate when the bottom of the iPad is inserted into one of the two indentations used to hold the screen in one position. from two corners. The tabs are magnetic, so once the iPad is in, it takes a reasonable amount of force to remove. The magnetic mount allows you to use the Smart Keyboard with an iPad on your lap, although the combination is heavier than a laptop. it is not as stable as a laptop in the same position. But it's normal. The lack of a backlight might be a downside for some people, but if you're touch-typing and familiar with the typical Mac keyboard layout, you're unlikely to be looking at the keyboard anyway. never mind When you're in the dark, the light from the screen illuminates the keys a bit, so you can't see the full key markings. And one more thing - the keyboard is completely covered with a textured treated coating. Cloth, meaning there is no gap under the keys for dust and other contaminants to get into the key mechanism. It's just great for a mobile keyboard. All in all, I recommend the Smart Keyboard Folio if you want a premium portable keyboard for your iPad Pro and don't need a trackpad. Especially when it's on sale. So you cannot fully see the key marks. And one more thing - the keyboard is completely covered with a textured treated coating.
