While I didn't get the 100MB/s read speeds advertised on the box, I got very close when connected to the latest laptop with a microSD slot, so no adapters were used. Previously I tried using an adapter on a USB 3 port and got a 5x slower speed. So it depends a lot on the interface and adapter for your computer, not the limitations of this product. Any adapter was not included.
