It's solid, but in the open position there's at least half an inch of play at the end of the legs. You need to bend forward and ENSURE that all 4 legs are tight at all corners, otherwise the legs will move when you step on them and can create a situation where it's clear the legs aren't closing around you . That's why I gave it a 3 for stability. I really didn't have to back it up every time for the amount of money it cost! Also, after 3 days of use, 2 strips of tape came loose. This is just me using it. Today I added a 1/4" rubber diamond plate to my crotch, I love showing photos.
