My husband gave up 4mg nicotine gum and used flavored toothpicks to help him. He had some form of nicotine for 25 years so it was hard at first as you can imagine. I bought him a cinnamon flavored Hotlix to help with his oral fixation. He was afraid he would eat more if he wasn't distracted. It really helped! Just to shake things up a bit, I thought XERO picks had great flavors so I bought him some. He particularly liked the fact that the scent lasted for a long time. And some of those flavors were fun and delicious. How tasty churro! Then his lips began to irritate. It looked like he had a cold sore or something. He said his lips appeared to have been burned or cracked in the sun. I don't know what caused it, but he had to stop. He's back on Hotlix now and is still nicotine free and doing fine. Maybe XERO brand xylitol didn't suit him. Whatever the reason, it visibly irritated his lips. I hope this review helps you decide if this is for you.
