Because my original roof vent was damaged during a remodel, I needed another way to vent my dryer. I really wasn't expecting much from this unit having tried such products in the past but my dryer took three cycles to wet dry a medium sized load and the cost and hassle was driving me crazy. So, a few things to make this thing work really well. #1) Buy worm drive clamps for both ends of the hose as the plastic tie that comes with it won't last long. Size) #2) Buy one of those popular (and washable) reusable nylon grocery bags, one big enough to fit the entire lint block in the bag to catch any lint that doesn't get caught in the water. Once I made those two small adjustments, it was a very working product! My dryer is back to normal drying times, the extra warmth and humidity is welcome this time of year, and the extra "lint protection" provided by the bag keeps lint from flying all over the place.
