Adjust the metal tabs before attempting to install the grip guard.

I've read other reviews about mismatched holes and dry mounted the generator. I bent the metal tabs a bit for better alignment. It worked well. Also add some foam under the handle to prevent rattling. It comes with two small thin pieces, but that's not enough. Be sure to press firmly on the small Allen key that comes with the kit to avoid damaging the head of the screw. I pressed the metal grip guard down with a small clamp to fit it snugly against the foam underneath. Works great, doesn't rattle and should slow the thief down long enough for them to progress.
