After a few months of use I decided to get some PH strips and do a real test. I compared with two breakpoints; my tap water and some mineral water called Essentia. Results: Tap water (Dallas area): PH measured at 7 Essentia (advertised as PH 9.50): PH measured at 8.5 month old filter: PH measured at 7 new filter: PH measured at 7 8.5. So, as advertised, the water alkalizes the water, but I was disappointed to see how quickly it wears off. Either way, it works at least as well as expensive bottled water. I wouldn't expect the filter to be functional for about two weeks in the future. A month later it no longer works.
