My son is small and skinny so he needs a 2T trunks. Bought them in both 2T/3T and 3T/4T. The size 2/3 fits him much better, although both have a very adjustable waistband, they both fit. I kept both pairs so we have a spare. The inside waist has a drawstring for a snug fit. Which is good because they will most likely fall off if they get wet, my boy is so skinny. I wish the adjustment was elastic because it would be easier for toilet breaks. But replacing that with an elasticated drawstring would probably be easy enough. The entire front of the swimsuit is lined, which I really like. We tried so many couples and many of them were only half in front. These are my favorite swim trunks and my kids' favorite swim trunks!
