Review on Janome Computerized Sewing Machine Thread by Michelle Langley

I love my 49360! Great value for money known as Janome - lots of features for the money

Just got my sewing machine 49360 - made my first project this week and I love this machine. It feels very solid and the high quality of Janome is evident in how precisely everything works, runs so smoothly, every stitch is perfect. The needle threader I used the first 3-4 times felt a little stiff compared to the old style, but it loosened up quickly and worked perfectly every time. This machine has the clearest view of the needle working surface of any machine I have ever owned - it has to be the square shape of the head. Since 2002 I only use Janome. I have two great old models but they don't have all the features of this model and I wanted to try something new just for fun. I went through all the seams and did a test, every seam was perfect front and back. Remember to sew slowly when sewing decorative stitches. First thing I did was replace the small set screw that holds the footrest with a large set screw because my fingers are stiff and I can't hold the small screw - they are easy to find on Amazon. I already had a matching side table, also available on Amazon. My favorite foot for doll clothes is the 1/4 inch straight stitch foot with the metal quilting guide removed so I don't have to switch it out when I need to sew fabric. Favorite stitch (so far) 02, which automatically sews the start and end stitch together, after that I use scissors. Saves a lot of time when trimming the thread. Cotton for quilts. Every day I love him more and more! Pros: Light weight Sturdy construction Smooth running Easy navigation LCD for changing stitches Speed selector Can be used without a foot pedal (I used slow speed and start button to make the sampler) Needle up/memory down Pressure control for presser foot Auto thread trimming with scissor buttons Backstitch straight feed Adjustable needle drop position left and right of center on all straight stitches Starts stitching right at the edge of the fabric without forming a thread nest like my old machine CONS: Light is not very bright at certain times of the day, gets a bit noisy when sewing along a thick seam or more layers (e.g. 6-8 layers of cotton on the piping), but he keeps sewing, so that's important. Just go slow if you have to cross a really thick seam.
