Great monitor with several areas to pay attention to

I am writing this review after using the monitor for a few months to ensure that my review is well rounded and includes all the points that you need to know if you decide to purchase this monitor. Context of my purchase: 1. The pandemic has forced many people like me to work from home. At some point we all feel two things (at least I do): a. Laptop screens are too small to handle multiple screens. b. Switching between work and personal laptops becomes a challenge.2. Depending on our hobbies, we need a monitor that will help us work on a big screen and also allow us to do our hobbies on a monitor. Photography is my hobby and I regularly edit really large photos in addition to working from home. So the ideal scenario for me was to get a high-resolution monitor so I could see my large photos with decent clarity and also work with multiple screens side-by-side. I looked at many monitors before deciding on this one. One of the reasons I chose ultrawide is because of the 16:9 aspect ratio, ultrawide monitors are smaller than non-ultrawide monitors. This allows me to look directly into the monitor without craning my neck. Now the monitor details: 1. IPS panel and thus a really crisp edge-to-edge display, excellent colors and sharpness.2. Supports high resolution laptops. I have a Mac Mini 2020 with a discrete graphics card. I love how this monitor displays everything on the Mac mini.3. Unpacking and setting up was a breeze.4. Screen splitting software is amazing. Allows you to split the screen into 2, 3 or 4 parts. Once installed on your laptops, choose the split you need and that's it. As soon as you drag a specific app, the split window borders appear immediately and you can just place the screen on the section you want and the app will fit right into that section. Actually I love this part. Now for the difficulties I had to face to set up what I was looking for. 1. You can connect a wireless keyboard and mouse directly to the monitor. These devices connect seamlessly to a laptop that you connect to a monitor. However, the monitor only has 1 USB-C port. So if you want to connect two high-resolution computers to the monitor, you can't connect at the same time. You have to keep unplugging one and plugging in the other to get the display. This is not the solution I was looking for.3. HDMI ports do not offer high-resolution display. My Mac Mini doesn't even show anything on the monitor when connected to the HDMI port. My Windows work laptop is showing a display through the HDMI port, but at a resolution so low that it cannot be used.4. When you use a display cable on the display port, you only connect the display to the monitor, but you don't get the benefit of sharing the keyboard and mouse across the monitor. So I've tried every permutation and combination to get it working, allowing me to connect both work and PCs to the monitor and switch between them using the display selector button on the monitor. Sadly it did not work. If only LG had two USB-C ports on the monitor. So after a lot of research I bought this KVM switch that allows me to switch between my two computers with the push of a button: https://smile. amazon.com/gp/product/B08F42NXGC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is an expensive solution, but it eventually gave the desired customization. Now my two computers are connected to the switch along with a wireless keyboard and mouse, and the switch sends the image to the monitor via a dedicated display cable (HDMI). I switch between my two computers with the button on the switch. I know it's more than just looking at the monitor. But I'm sure many of you would like to have a similar setup at home and I wanted to write this to make sure you know what you're getting into. Hope that helps.
