My phone gets hot, hanging on the vent mount. It gets hot here in summer, so the suction cup mount only works for half a year. I was hopeful but also had doubts about this product. Will my $1,000 phone ever fly through the dash? Some had clip breakage issues, is this well researched? Well I had no reason to doubt. The thing sits on the dashboard and DOESN'T MOVE. No flying phones just a phone perfectly fixed so I can show directions on my app. What else you should know: This clip is really bouncy! It holds tight and tight, so don't just rip the phone out. The two parts of the clamp come together and can break the clamp. However, should something unforeseen happen, new clips can be purchased here on Revain for a small fee. They are easy to change. The clip can be rotated vertically or horizontally as you like. My phone sits perfectly perpendicular on the clip to avoid touching the buttons and not plugging in the charger. To be honest this item was a really good buy. I'm glad I bought it.
