This product sticks very well to the dashboard of my truck. The dashboard is designed with a recessed flat area, which already has a non-slip pad on it, so it won't slip at all between it and the non-slip base of this phone holder. My concern is that my phone (iPhone 8plus) is large and may be too heavy for this product. There is a clamp on the back of the mount that needs to be tightened, but it's plastic. I have to pull this button pretty hard to keep my phone from falling in the holder…

My phone gets hot, hanging on the vent mount. It gets hot here in summer, so the suction cup mount only works for half a year. I was hopeful but also had doubts about this product. Works very well, does not slip. I have a few issues, but they are not related to the product itself. My first issue is that my phone's buttons (volume up/down, power on/off) are on the side. When I pinch the phone I have to make sure it doesn't press those buttons which causes it to line up about 3/4 the length of the phone. But it is still stable. Second, my windshield is at an angle making it difficult for me to orient my phone vertically, so I have to place it horizontally. It looks weird…

I would like to give 5 stars but as mentioned in the previous review the swivel that holds the phone clip is loose. Even when fully tightened, the weight of my phone made it sag so I couldn't see the screen. However, a previous review's suggestion of wrapping a small strip of tape around the ball before sliding the clip into place worked great, fixing everything in place just enough to keep it from dangling.
